UMD continues its stretch of five games in eight days with a second straight date against Miami. The Bulldogs are tied with idle St. Cloud State for the top spot in the NCHC at nine points. North Dakota had a chance to move ahead of the two, at least temporarily, but fell to Denver 3-2 in the second game of the day. In the opener, Colorado College picked up a 2-1 shootout win over Western Michigan after a 3-3 tie through regulation and three-on-three overtime.
The Bulldogs aren’t making many changes for this game, but one is pretty significant. Cohasset native and former Grand Rapids standout Zach Stejskal will make his UMD debut in this game, starting instead of reigning NCHC Goaltender of the Week Ryan Fanti (3-0, 2.33 GAA, .920 saves). We’ll see if Stejskal can put his best foot forward to create a goaltending competition for UMD.
Freshman Luke Mylymok makes his debut as the 13th forward, while Connor Kelley draws back in on defense, where Darian Gotz and Jake Rosenbaum are scratched.
7pm pregame on KDAL.
