Big test to close out this back-to-back for UMD.
Players aren’t dumb. They see things happening around them. They’re fully aware this Colorado College team has been outscored 14-6 in three games so far in Pod City. They know they are 5-0-1, and virtually everyone watching expects them to win this game, probably convincingly.
But there are plenty of pieces of evidence that are out there towards one big fact. If you don’t come correct in the NCHC, if you don’t respect your adversary and bring the appropriate level of energy and execution every game, you’re going to be in trouble.
It’s what turns coaches’ hair gray prematurely. It’s also what makes this such a great league, the thing everyone wanted when the NCHC was first created.
What’s that old saying? Be careful what you wish for, you just might get it.
For UMD, head coach Scott Sandelin sticks with Ryan Fanti in goal. Only change is on the fourth line, where Luke Mylymok plays for Jarrett Lee. Since Mylymok was the 13th forward for his UMD debut against Miami and didn’t play much in the game, this should be our first extended look at him.
