DULUTH, MN (KDAL) – The Duluth City Council has approved a nearly 900 thousand dollar grant to fund and create a Lake Superior Diversion and Substance Use Response Team.
The focus of the three year opioid response program will include reducing delays in outreach and assessment and expanding the current caseload.
A licensed Drug and Alcohol Counselor will be hired to help get people into treatment more quickly.
Police continue to work on solving the regions drug problem by removing drugs from the street through enforcement, educating about addiction and getting people the resources needed to aid in recovery.
