If Dr. Suz Hoppe — UMD’s director of sports performance — is seen somewhere spiking a football when this game begins, please understand it isn’t her nature, but it’s well-deserved. Same goes for St. Cloud State athletic trainer Bryan DeMaine.
This is the 24th of 24 scheduled games for both teams. Yes, UMD had a bump in the road, but the Bulldogs have gotten all the scheduled games in, and that alone is an accomplishment when trying to play hockey during a pandemic. It shouldn’t be forgotten as we observe the happenings and analyze the result of this NCHC regular season finale. Congratulations to everyone on sticking together and making it to the finish line.
Anyway, only one change for UMD compared to its lineup for last Saturday’s game. Ben Almquist is back on the fourth line, centering Blake Biondi and Luke Loheit. Luke Mylymok is scratched. For St. Cloud State, Brady Ziemer is in on the blue line for Tyler Anderson, while Kyler Kupka plays up front for Joe Molenaar.
Zach Stejskal vs David Hrenak once again. 12:30 pregame on KDAL.
