DULUTH, MN (CBS-3) – Additional help is on the way for bars and restaurants across the country still struggling because of the pandemic.
They will soon be able to apply for tax-free federal grants from the newly passed COVID-19 Relief Bill.
Minnesota Senator Amy Klobuchar stopped Duluth Sunday to speak with people who will benefit from this funding first hand.
This past year has been challenging for everyone, especially if you work in a restaurant.
Klobuchar says one in six restaurants in America permanently closed down and 135 billion dollars in sales and 24 million jobs were lost. In Minnesota, 50 thousand people have lost their restaurant jobs.
Senator Klobuchar spoke on Sunday at The Boat Club restaurant in Duluth.
Additional help on the way for businesses still hurting in the form of tax-free grants that were included in President Biden’s almost $2 trillion relief package.
