DULUTH, MN (KDAL) – Low relative humidity levels and high winds will result in near critical fire weather conditions on Friday and especially Saturday in parts of northeast Minnesota and northwest Wisconsin.
The National Weather Service Office in Duluth says humidity levels will range from 25 to 15 percent and winds will gust over 35 miles per hour on Saturday.
The only factor missing in meeting the critical fire weather criteria for a Red Flag Warning is a temperature of 75 degrees or higher.
Predicted high temps on Saturday will be in the mid to upper 50’s.
People are requested to refrain from lighting debris fires, campfires, grilling, throwing lit cigarettes out the window or other actions that could lead to a wildfire.
Some rain is expected to move into the area on Sunday which will diminish the wildfire threat.
