SUPERIOR, WI (KDAL) – The portion of Highway 2 and 53 (East 2nd Street) between 29th and 53rd Avenues East in Superior will undergo an improvement project starting this week.
The current concrete surface will be ground down and overlaid with asphalt, bridges over the Nemadji River and Bluff Creek will be rehabilitated and the traffic signals at 39th Avenue East will be replaced.
At least one lane in each direction will be open during the work but motorists should expect congestion and delays during busy traffic times.
The project is expected to be complete in October.
The 2.3 mile project continues the East 2nd Street project that began last year when the area between Belknap Street and the Nemadji River was resurfaced.
