DULUTH, MN (KDAL) – Two residents of a house at 6 West Linden Street in Duluth were rescued from a porch roof by first responders.
The Duluth Fire Department arrived on the scene of the fire around midnight Friday morning to find a large amount of fire on the front porch and first floor of the home.
Duluth Police assisted firefighters in rescuing two people who had made their way to the roof of a porch at the rear of the building.
The two were taken by ambulance to a hospital for treatment.
A pet cat perished in the fire.
Fire damage was limited to the front porch and first floor of the home but smoke damage was heavy throughout the building.
Damage estimates were set at 75 thousand dollars.
The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Duluth Fire Marshal’s Office.
