UNDATED (KDAL) – Wetter than normal conditions in December saw Lake Superior levels decline less than an inch compared to a normal decline of 3.2 inches during the month.
The International Lake Superior Board of Control says the lake is now 2.8 inches below the long term average but 11 inches below the level of a year ago.
Depending on weather conditions, Lake Superior typically declines in January and could see a drop of as much as 3.9 inches.
