DULUTH, MN (KDAL) – Martin Luther King Day Celebrations will be scaled back in Duluth this year due to COVID concerns.
There will be no march, interfaith service or MLK breakfast but several virtual activities and events are planned.
On Sunday, a virtual community reading of the Letter from the Birmingham Jail will take place on Zoom from 4 to 5 p-m sponsored by the Duluth Branch of the NAACP.
The virtual breakfast program on Monday will originate from the Twin Cities starting at 8:45 and features several speakers in a fundraiser for the United Negro College Fund.
A 20 minute documentary film will feature two generations of Duluth residents discussing their perspectives on topics including Voting Rights, Economic and Criminal Justice and Environmental Equity. The Zoom event runs from 11 a-m to noon on Monday.
