ST. PAUL, MN (KDAL) – At-home COVID-19 tests are now required to be covered by health plans offered by insurance companies, employers and groups.
The coverage includes up to 12 dollars per test and 8 tests per month.
The Minnesota Department of Health advises checking with your health plan first before purchasing an at-home test to ensure you follow the necessary steps needed to have costs covered.
Different guidelines apply to Medicare and Medicaid public health plans.
Free tests are also still available at state operated testing sites, including the DECC in Duluth, and those scheduled with clinics and pharmacies.
For those testing positive and needing a negative test to return to work or school, check to see what type of test will be accepted.
