SUPERIOR, WI (KDAL) – The Superior Police Department has joined about 200 other law enforcement agencies in a training program that supports building a culture of peer intervention that reduces mistakes and prevents misconduct.
The Active Bystandership for Law Enforcement or ABLE Project is an initiative from the Georgetown University Law Center.
By their acceptance into the program, Superior Police have demonstrated a firm commitment to transformational reform.
Letters of support for the department’s application to join the ABLE program came from Mayor Jim Paine and other community leaders.
During the coming months, all of the Superior Police officers will receive 8 hours of training designed to change the culture of policing.
