DULUTH, MN (KDAL) – The annual homeless count will be taken by the St. Louis County Public Health and Human Service Department on Thursday.
The Point in Time Homeless Count is federally required and identifies people whose primary residence is not fit for habitation.
Examples would be those staying in vehicles, parks, abandoned buildings, storage units or an ice house.
The collected data is used to determine federal funding to fight homelessness.
Thursday is also the Community Connect event at the Damiano Center in Duluth from 10 a-m to 2 p-m.
There will be a variety of free services offered to those who are struggling economically.
Services include warrant resolution, flu and COVID vaccinations, hair trims and a lunch.
The event is organized by a coalition of non profits including Loaves and Fishes, the Salvation Army and the Damiano Center.
