DULUTH, MN (KDAL) – The Duluth Fire Department battled a huge fire at a building in the 100 block of East 1st Street in Duluth.
The fire early Friday morning, was in the old Pawn Duluth building next to the Clayton Jackson McGhie Memorial.
First Street was blocked to traffic between 1st and 2nd Avenues East for most of Friday morning.
The large amounts of water used on the fire flowed down the avenues and across Superior Street in sub zero temperatures.
Further down the hill, Michigan Street was closed for a time in the area due to the standing water.
Crews arrived at 2:05 a-m to find heavy fire coming from the 2nd floor of the building. They were on the scene for most of the morning.
At this time there are no reports of injuries or the cause of the fire.
