UNDATED (KDAL) – The price of gas has been soaring across the country and in the Twin Ports over the last week.
As of Monday morning, GasBuddy.com reports many stations in Superior are at 4.09 a gallon while most in Duluth are at 3.89.
The national average is now at 4.06, up from 3.60 just last week and 2.77 a year ago at this time.
The record high national average is 4.11, set in the summer of 2008 and experts believe that mark could be broken this week.
The most expensive gas in the country is in California, where the average has topped 5.30 a gallon.
