DULUTH, MN (KDAL) – The Duluth Police “Get Hooked on Fishing” program has received a nearly 10 thousand dollar check from the Larry and Donna Pulkrabek Foundation.
The presentation was made Tuesday at the Mont du Lac Resort.
The program takes kids from the community out on Lake Superior and other area lakes to fish with police officers.
The outings occur each Tuesday during the summer season and helps to build relationships between youth and officers in the area.
Fishing gear and lunch is also provided to the kids.
Previous support from the Minnesota DNR allowed the Police Department to purchase a pontoon for the program.
