SUPERIOR, WI (KDAL) – Following an investigation by the Wisconsin Department of Criminal Investigation, the Douglas County District Attorney’s Office says no charges will be filed in a February incident where a Superior Police Officer ran over a man lying in the road.
It was concluded that Officer Joshua Sislo did not see the man who was dressed in dark clothing and thought he had run over a chunk of ice.
Dashboard mounted video supported the officer’s claim that the man was not visible in the road at night as the squad made a turn from Tower Avenue onto North 8th Street.
The investigation showed that Officer Sislo was not impaired, was not using his phone and the vehicle was being operated in a normal manner prior to impact.
