DULUTH, MN (KDAL) – Duluth Police were called to a home in the 400 block of North 58th Avenue West on Monday afternoon on reports of a burglary in progress.
When they arrived, officers quickly realized it was not a burglary but a woman suffering a mental health crisis.
The woman was armed with a shotgun and refused the officer’s request to drop the weapon.
After hearing a single shot discharged from the house, a member of the Police Crisis Negotiation Team was able to convince the woman to surrender peacefully.
Nobody was injured in the incident.
The 38 year old woman was taken to a local hospital for a mental evaluation and faces felony reckless discharge of a firearm and gross misdemeanor child endangerment charges
