DULUTH, MN (KDAL) – The St. Louis County Board has authorized an agreement with St. Luke’s of Duluth to provide state mandated medical services at the County Jail.
The action removes MeND Correctional Care which has faced controversy following the death of an inmate in Beltrami County in 2018.
The new agreement will have St. Luke’s making medical services available 24-7 and provide mental health services 40 hours a week.
The 1.7 million dollar contract with St. Luke’s begins on November 1st.
