DULUTH, MN (KDAL) – The City of Duluth has announced funding for four projects under the “Love Your Block” program.
Fifteen hundred dollars was awarded to the Lincoln Park Resources Center for the installation of a mural alongside the food and book little library at the Community Garden site on West 3rd Street.
A thousand dollars goes to a Central Hillside resident to clean up the neighborhood around Cascade Park followed by a community picnic and visioning session.
Another Central Hillside resident will get fifteen hundred dollars for repair of a West 4th Street and the cleanup and landscaping of a community gathering space.
A project to replace some broken windows and a door and prevent future damage at Storey Taxidermy was awarded 950 dollars.
The “Love Your Block” program supports small scale resident led projects that are funded by the Bloomberg Philanthropies Center for Innovation. Duluth is one of 8 cities to get funding, training and mentoring from the Johns Hopkins based center.
