DULUTH, MN (KDAL) – The Duluth Preservation Alliance has released its ten most endangered places list.
The list is meant to call attention to the historic properties in the city that face impending demolition or have an uncertain future.
Alliance members are urging the city to use American Rescue Plan funds to invest in the historic resources to benefit Duluth for generations to come.
President of the Preservation Alliance, Blake Romenesko, says if action isn’t taken to save the at-risk properties, Duluth will lose its spirit of authenticity.
The list includes the Minnesota Point Lighthouse, Nettleton Elementary, 1st Presbyterian Church, St. Mary’s Hospital, the Central Hillside Commercial Corridor, St. Paul’s German Evangelical Church, Duluth Commercial Historic District which includes the Bayha Building and the Hotel Astoria and the 100 block of East 1st Street including the Pastoret Terrace.
