CLOQUET, MN (KDAL) – Cloquet School officials say about an hour lockdown was put in place at the middle and high school following a call that indicated there was an active shooter event underway.
The call, received Wednesday morning, was determined to be a hoax and there was no threat to student safety.
Regular school day activities resumed following the lockdown.
According to the Minnesota Bureau of Apprehension (BCA), the call was part of several “swatting” incidents around the state Wednesday and an investigation is underway to determine the source of the prank calls.
The BCA says “swatting” involves making a prank call to authorities in order to get a massive law enforcement and SWAT team response to a certain location.
