DULUTH, MN (KDAL) – The City of Duluth and the Lake Superior National Estuarine Research Reserve is holding a public progress report in efforts to restore the health of the St. Louis River.
The event will be held from 3:30 to 6:30 p-m Thursday at Chambers Grove Park.
Resource managers and educators will be on hand to provide updates on the previous and upcoming restoration projects and hear the public’s observations and experiences on the river.
The event will be family friendly and feature kid’s activity tables and snacks.
The restoration initiative is funded in partnership with the Minnesota and Wisconsin DNR and will see the removal of harmful plants like buckthorn this fall and planting up to 80 thousand trees along the bays and islands of the river next spring.
