DULUTH, MN (KDAL) – The annual event to fill the 200 food shelves in Minnesota is underway across the state.
Last year, the Minnesota Food Share Campaign raised almost ten million dollars and 5.5 million pounds of food for state families in need.
The CHUM Food Shelf in Duluth distributed over 572 thousand pounds of food to nearly 16 thousand people in the city.
Although both food and money are needed, the folks at CHUM says the food shelf can do much more with monetary donations since they can buy 3 dollars worth of food for every dollar they receive.
During March, the Food Share Campaign also matches donations through April 9th.
Donate directly at the website https://www.givemn.org/story/Mdk8mf or bring food to CHUM at 120 North 1st Avenue West in Duluth.
