VIRGINIA, MN (KDAL) – The St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office has made an arrest in a series of cabin burglaries in the Makinen area.
While viewing a security camera feed from his Lost Lake Road property, the cabin owner contacted law enforcement when he saw a male on a snowmobile breaking into sheds.
The suspect was identified and arrested after the snowmobile became stuck in a ditch while fleeing from deputies.
Investigators followed the snowmobile tracks to find multiple other buildings, sheds and cabins that were broken into in the area.
The snowmobile used in the burglaries was also stolen and another stolen snowmobile remains missing.
The suspect was identified as Jory Christian Sirjord who has been charged with burglary, theft and fleeing an officer.
