DULUTH, MN (KDAL) – Local organizations, businesses, student groups, and individuals are gearing up to participate in Earth Week, an extension of Earth Day.
Earth Day was first celebrated on April 22nd, 1970, as a result of organizing efforts by Senator Gaylord Nelson of Wisconsin.
This week, the City of Duluth will participate in a variety of local events to recognize
the importance of preserving our environment and natural resources.
Many events will be hosted by the Lincoln Park-based non-profit Ecolibrium3, culminating in EcoFest on Earth Day this Saturday.
