UNDATED (KDAL) – A parade, music, a car show, food and fireworks are among the events scheduled Tuesday for the 4th of July in the Twin Ports.
The 26th Annual 4th of July Parade in Superior starts at 11 a-m heading down Belknap Street from Mortorelli Drive and ending at Ogden Avenue and North 12th Street.
From 1 to 3 p-m, the Dennis VanAlstine Memorial Car and Motorcycle Show will be held on Tower Avenue between Belknap and Broadway Streets.
In Superior, festivities move to Barkers Island at 5:30 with a flyover by F-35’s out of Madison. Music begins at 6 p-m with fireworks at 10.
Except for the parade which will be held rain or shine, other events in Superior will move to September 4th in case of inclement weather.
The Duluth 4th Fest at Bayfront Festival Park begins at 4 p-m with three bands providing live music, dozens of food, beverage and craft vendors and wraps up with fireworks starting at 10:10.
Limited parking is available at the DECC, the Great Lakes Aquarium and in parking lots on Railroad Street.
Police remind motorists to expect long delays in the area before and following the fireworks display. Officers will be directing traffic and drivers are asked to be patient.
