COOK, MN (KDAL) – St. Louis County Sheriff Deputies responded to a Canadian National (CN) train derailment about six miles north of Cook at 8:20 p-m on Monday.
A total of nine cars left the tracks with four remaining upright and five on their sides.
Two of the rail cars contained hazardous material in the form of liquefied petroleum gas but no leaks or spills were observed.
Authorities say the incident occurred in a rural, non residential area and the public is not in danger.
St. Louis County Emergency Management is on the scene assisting with the incident.
