DULUTH, MN (KDAL) – Late Wednesday afternoon and evening saw several strong thunderstorms move across northeast Minnesota and northwest Wisconsin.
There were numerous reports of heavy rain and some hail and wind damage.
Quarter sized hail was documented in Itasca County and 1 to 2 inch diameter hail was seen in Pine County into Washburn County damaging vehicle windows and gardens.
The Twin Ports area also saw some hail ranging from pea sized to nickel and quarter sized.
A funnel cloud was reported in Burnett County but it is not clear if it touched down.
The Duluth Weather Service measured over a half inch of rain (.65) but there were reports of 2 inches or more in some areas.
