DULUTH, MN (KDAL) – The Lake Superior and Mississippi Railroad is set to re-open passenger tours through the St. Louis River estuary this weekend.
The Duluth River Train has been inoperative since 2020 due to COVID and then the Superfund cleanup of the river at the former U-S Steel Plant and Spirit Lake.
Volunteers have been working through the down time to restore equipment and perform maintenance on the tracks and right-of-way.
Season opening rides are scheduled for 10:30 a-m and 1:30 p-m on Saturday from the ticket offices at 6930 Fremont Street in Duluth.
