DULUTH, MN (KDAL) – After signing a memorandum of understanding last October, Essentia Health and the Marshfield Clinic Health System on Thursday agreed to form a new integrated regional health system.
This step will keep the organizations on track to merge by the end of the year pending regulatory approval.
By joining together, the new regional system would serve Minnesota, Wisconsin, North Dakota and the U-P of Michigan with 25 hospitals and 150 sites for health care.
Essentia Health CEO Dr. David Herman would serve as head of the new parent company and says by combining, both organizations will be better positioned to navigate current and future challenges to health care.
