ST. PAUL, MN (KDAL) – The Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) has added ten more locations of Road Weather Information Systems in northern Minnesota.
The new sites include locations on Highway 61 in Grand Marais and Schroeder, I-35 near Moose Lake, Highway 53 near Piedmont Avenue in Duluth and Highway 2 near Solway.
Each sensor station collects weather data such as temperatures, wind speed, visibility and pavement conditions to help support road maintenance decisions.
All of the sites also features camera views of the highway.
