DULUTH, MN (KDAL) – The St. Louis County Board and Sheriff Gordon Ramsay presented the annual 911 Lifesaver Awards on Tuesday to those involved in three separate incidents.
Honored at the ceremony were four members of the Lakeland Volunteer Fire Department who rescued a sleeping man from a locked cabin that was filled with smoke.
Another award was presented to Joe Froehlingsdorf of Cook who performed CPR on his newborn daughter who had stopped breathing before the ambulance and first responders arrived.
Also recognized was David LaChapelle who saved a kayaker from drowning in Virginia’s Silver Lake.
Since 1993, St. Louis County has presented the 911 Lifesaver Awards to those who risked their own safety to save others
