VIRGINIA, MN (KDAL) – A one vehicle crash on the dead-end of the Milroy Road north of Virginia on Tuesday seriously injured the driver.
The St. Louis County Sheriff’s Department says the vehicle ended up in a wooded area and the female driver needed to be extricated due to the extensive damage and her injuries.
The driver was airlifted to St. Mary’s Hospital in Duluth.
Witnesses say the vehicle was seen in the area traveling at a very high rate of speed and officials believe that speed was a contributing factor in the crash.
The driver was not wearing a seatbelt.
The cause of the crash, reported at 3:45 p-m, remains under investigation.
