DULUTH, MN (KDAL) – With a hefty sixty percent of the vote, Roger Reinert defeated incumbent Mayor Emily Larson in voting on Tuesday. With all precincts reporting, Reinert, a former State Senator, totaled 17,518 votes to 11,716 for Larson who was trying for a third term.
In Duluth City Council races, the two at-large spots were won by incumbent Arik Forsman and Lynn Marie Nephew.
Wendy Durrwachter topped Timothy Meyer in District One 53 to 47 percent, it was Tara Swenson over Howie Hansen 59-41 percent in District Four and incumbent Janet Kennedy was re-elected in District Five defeating Ginka Tarnowski 65-35 percent.
In the at-large School Board race Stephanie Williams ousted incumbent Alanna Oswald (53-45 %) and Henry Banks beat Loren Martell in District Three (51-48%).
The School District Question 1 on the ballot was approved with 55 percent voting “yes.” However, Question 2 failed with 14,734 “No” votes to 14,443 “Yes” votes with all the precincts now counted.
