SOUTH YORKSHIRE, ENGLAND (24/7 News Source-KDAL) – A man has been arrested in connection with the death of Adam Johnson who was fatally injured during a hockey game in England last month.
Johnson, a Hibbing native, died after another player’s skate cut his neck in what was called at the time a “freak accident.”
South Yorkshire Police announced on Tuesday a man has been arrested on suspicion of manslaughter in connection to Johnson’s death.
Johnson was playing for the Nottingham Panthers in the UK Elite League at the time of the incident.
He previously played for the Pittsburgh Penguins in the NHL for parts of two seasons and played college hockey for the UMD Bulldogs.
