Back at Amsoil Arena, where UMD looks to end a month-long funk and get some good vibes going. The Bulldogs haven’t won since Oct. 21 in Bemidji, and haven’t won here since the night before against that same Beavers team.
As I said in 8 Thoughts, it’s not like UMD can trade its way out of this or make other personnel changes. Instead, the Bulldogs have to play their way out of it. Everyone goes through these dry spells. Not a single coach with any modicum of experience is immune in any way. With that in mind, I asked Omaha’s Mike Gabinet about the messaging he likes to use when times are a little tougher.
“To me, you always want to be a little bit more positive when things are a little bit tough, and maybe a little bit more demanding when you’re doing things the right way,” he said. “You maintain that standard, and I think one of the things that’s important when you are a little bit of a rut is to narrow your focus. Really give the guys something to focus on, and at the end of the day, it’s your actions that matter, right?
Should be a good weekend. Omaha comes in hot with three straight wins, off to a very good start.
Few changes for UMD, as the lines are shuffled a bit. Braden Fischer makes his UMD debut.
Lines?
