DULUTH, MN (KDAL) – Last week, members of the Lake Superior Violent Offenders Task Force and various other agencies arrested five people in two separate drug busts in Duluth and Hoyt Lakes.
On Wednesday a search warrant was executed on a vehicle at the Anchor Lake Rest Stop south of Eveleth. The search turned up over 19 thousand dollars in currency, methamphetamine, marijuana and a handgun.
The driver was arrested and a search of his residence in Hoyt Lakes turned up additional drugs, another 95 thousand dollars and numerous firearms.
On Thursday, four people were arrested following searches of two residences in Duluth.
Seized were quantities of fentanyl, methamphetamine and synthetic fentanyl pills, over 21 thousand dollars in currency and four handguns.
According to law enforcement, the four were part of a drug trafficking organization responsible for transporting and selling over ten kilograms of fentanyl and 20 kilograms of meth in the region.
