DULUTH, MN (KDAL) – The victim of a hit and run on January 25th will be transferred from Essentia in Duluth on Monday to undergo advanced physical therapy at the Craig Hospital in Denver.
24 year old Ray Skoglund, a Duluth firefighter and member of the 148th Fighter Wing, sustained major injuries when he was hit by a vehicle while running along Grand Avenue. Skoglund was hospitalized and treated for broken limbs and ribs, a fractured vertebrae and a brain injury.
He will be flown to Denver by a medical transportation service for an inpatient advanced neurorehabilitative care plan.
Members of the Duluth and Hermantown Fire Departments, Duluth Police and the Minnesota Air National Guard will stage a large U-S flag at Monaco Air as a send-off for Skoglund.
An 88 year old man was arrested and charged in connection with the hit and run.
