BERLIN (Reuters) – Germany’s foreign ministry has been in contact with the lawyers of a German citizen who was detained on arrival in Russia, a spokesperson said on Wednesday.
“The Russian authorities reported the arrest to our consulate general, so we are providing consular assistance to the detainee,” the spokesperson said at a regular news conference in Berlin, adding: “We are in contact with his lawyers.”
