DULUTH, MN (KDAL) – 43 year old Diauante Shields was arrested during a drug bust by members of the Lake Superior Violent Offender Task Force, Duluth Police and St. Louis County Investigators on Monday.
Shields, who had several active felony warrants was detained without incident during the execution of a search warrant at his residence in the 4700 block of Matterhorn Drive.
Seized by authorities was over 33 thousand dollars in cash, numerous fake I-D’s, fentanyl, crack cocaine, methamphetamine, a loaded hand gun and other evidence of drug sales.
A short time later, investigators intercepted a package that was heavily wrapped, vacuum sealed and encased in spray foam. The K-9 Maverick was called in to detect the contents of the package which turned out to be a kilogram of cocaine.
Shields is in the St. Louis County Jail facing a variety of additional charges.
