DULUTH, MN (KDAL) – Thursday night at the St. Louis County Depot Theater, “History in a Pint” will feature retired Brigadier General Raymond Klosowski detailing the significant role the Duluth area played during the cold war with the Soviet Union.
Klosowski served in the U-S Air Force and Air Guard in Duluth in the 1960’s when jet interceptors, missile bases and radar stations in the region would be the first line of defense in the event of any air attack.
Klosowski was a fighter pilot and then commander of the 179th Fighter Interceptor Squadron which later became the 148th Fighter Wing.
A social hour at 6 p-m will be followed by the General’s presentation at 7.
The St. Louis County Historical Society is also displaying their latest traveling exhibit the “Duluth Area and the Cold War” at the Veterans Memorial Hall.
