GRAND FORKS, N.D. — First off, apologies for nothing this week. It was largely by design, and I chose not to warn y’all.
We had family plans at home Thursday night, and I wasn’t feeling like writing on Wednesday, so you got nothing. I’ll try to make up for it once the game ends.
For UMD, it’s the latest in a hell of a gauntlet down the stretch. The seventh-place Bulldogs close the regular season with series against the teams currently in the NCHC’s top three, starting here at first-place North Dakota. UND’s lead on St. Cloud State, however, is down to one point after the Fighting Hawks were swept last weekend at Colorado College, which has moved into third.
More on the events of last Saturday and the response to those events in our postgame 8 Thoughts.
As mentioned Wednesday, fifth year senior forward Connor McMenamin was listed as probable for the series. He is not in the lineup for the opener, so UMD’s run of having a healthy scratch in its lineup will end at four games.
Injuries suck, but UMD lost all four games where it had a healthy scratch and did not lead at any point in any game. So idk.
Zach Stejskal vs Ludvig Persson.
