MT. IRON, MN (KDAL) – A two vehicle crash Tuesday morning in rural Mountain Iron has left one of the drivers seriously injured.
The St. Louis County Sheriff’s Department says a small passenger car collided with a commercial vehicle at the intersection of the Wolf Road and County Highway 101.
The driver of the car was trapped and needed to be extricated from the vehicle.
The driver was then airlifted to a Duluth hospital with serious injuries.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
Among the agencies responding to the scene were the Mountain Iron Fire Department, Virginia Fire and Ambulance Service, Eveleth Police, the Minnesota State Patrol and St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office.
