DENVER — Coming off just its third series sweep of the 2023-24 season, the UMD men try to keep their season alive here this weekend.
It’s simple: Win two of three games against the NCHC’s second seed, and the Bulldogs will play at least one more game. Lose two of three games to the Pioneers, and what’s been coined as the third season by UMD coach Scott Sandelin begins.
The third season usually kinda sucks, so I’m in no hurry.
Injury updates for both teams: Jack Smith and Zach Stejskal will not dress for this game, as was the case Saturday. UMD has juggled a couple lines as a result. Denver is still missing centers Massimo Rizzo and Carter King. The fact they keep winning at this clip is really impressive.
Matthew Thiessen vs (I assume) Matt Davis (DU lists goalies in numerical order).
Lines?
