ST. PAUL, MN (24/7 News Source) – A second man is being charged in connection to the theft of a pair of ruby slippers from “The Wizard of Oz.”
The ruby slippers, which were worn by Judy Garland in the film, were stolen in 2005 from the Judy Garland Museum in Grand Rapids by a man named Terry Jon Martin.
Now, 76-year-old Jerry Hal Saliterman is in trouble for his alleged role in the scheme.
Saliterman made his first court appearance in Minnesota this weekend, where he was charged with theft of a major artwork and witness tampering.
An indictment against him says Saliterman “received, concealed, and disposed of an object of cultural heritage” between 2005 and 2018.
Martin pleaded guilty in October to the theft, while Saliterman has not yet entered a plea.
