DULUTH, MN (Northern News Now) – A Duluth man has been charged after allegedly sexually assaulting a woman in her early 20s in the Duluth skywalk system.
71 year old Adrian Tramaine Greene Sr. was charged with first-degree, second-degree, and third-degree criminal sexual conduct.
According to the criminal complaint, on Sunday, March 10th at around 1:15 p.m., Duluth Police responded to the report of a sexual assault at the Duluth Transportation Center on West Michigan Street.
The victim told authorities that she was outside of RT Quinlan’s Bar when she approached Greene asking if he had any money.
Greene allegedly said he could take her up to the ATM in the Duluth Transportation Center and take out $50 for her. She agreed and said she would pay him back the following week.
Court documents say that once they got to the Duluth Transportation Center, Greene allegedly started making threatening remarks and allegedly walked her into a corner and started inappropriately touching her and sexually assaulting her.
Authorities say the victim said he eventually stopped because people were coming toward them in the skywalk.
Court documents say they then went back toward the elevator and Greene gave her $9 in cash. She then left the area and went back to RT Quinlan’s where she called the police.
Duluth Police Officers were able to secure video footage of the skywalk area near the Duluth Transportation Center, which shows evidence of the assault.
Authorities say at around 2:30 p.m., Greene was located at the Round Up Bar on East 4th Street in Duluth where he appeared intoxicated and was taken into custody.
When asked about what happened in the skywalk earlier, Greene said he was there with “some broad” who asked him for $20. He also denied touching the victim.
Greene is looking at up to 25 years in prison for the incident.
His next court appearance is set for April 9.
