ST. PAUL, MN (KDAL) – The Minnesota unemployment rate for February remained at 2.7 percent according to figures released this week by the Department of Employment and Economic Development (DEED).
Job growth also was steady in February but Deputy Commissioner of DEED, Kevin McKinnon says there are many job openings in the state and they are focused on connecting people who need work with openings that match their skills.
Over the month, the biggest gains in jobs were in the government sector while the largest losses were in construction.
The national unemployment rate went up a bit from 3.7 to 3.9 percent in February.
