DULUTH, MN (KDAL) – Heavy, wet snow will mix with freezing rain on Monday afternoon and rain on Monday night. The mixed precipitation turns back to snow on Tuesday afternoon.
The Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 7 p-m on Tuesday for most of the area and a Blizzard Warning continues on the north shore of Lake Superior.
Most of the region is expecting a total of 9 to 16 inches of snow and roads will be slippery with difficult travel.
Blowing snow is also possible in some areas and ice accumulations of up to a tenth of an inch is forecasted.
Duluth plowing operations are expected to resume Monday morning with a full crew on duty. Main roadways will get priority while the snow continues and residents are asked to follow alternate side parking regulations to help in clearing the streets.
Starting Monday, vehicles should be using the even side of the street for parking.

Some City of Duluth facilities are closed including the Workforce Development Center and public libraries. City Hall will be open but staff will work remotely and the City Council meeting is expected to continue as scheduled Monday night.
