DULUTH, MN (KDAL) – A strong low pressure system is expected to bring widespread showers and thunderstorms to much of the Northland.
There is the potential for heavy rain and flooding in northeast Minnesota and northwest Wisconsin as the system moves through. Rainfall amounts could total 1.5 to over 3 inches.
The National Weather Service has issued a Flood Watch from 10 a-m Tuesday through Wednesday morning.
The heavy rain and excessive runoff could result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams and other low lying flood prone locations.
Strong winds are also expected with this storm, gusting to 40 miles per hour from the east on Tuesday and Tuesday night, switching to the west on Wednesday.
A Gale Warning has also been posted for the western end of Lake Superior.
